Funny story?!?

Okay, so its been a while since I've last posted, and a lot has happened since then. I went home for 2 glorious weeks and was able to spend some time with everyone in my family! Christmas and New Years were wonderful...not a whole lof of terribly fun stuff going on, but it was still good.
So, I had my mail stopped while I was gone, and one of the wonderful pieces of mail that I recieved was a summon for jury duty in Yakima County. Remember, I live in Skagit County and have changed my voter registration information to reflect this. Anyway, this supposedly came in the mail shortly after I left, and you're suppose to respond within 5 days, or there'll be a warrent for your arrest for not doing this. So, I'm just getting mine in the mail today. I'm not too worried about getting arrested, seeing how they don't have my correct address. :) Oh the joys of government bureocracy! hehehe!
Schools going well...I lost one student over break and gained another one...so my class sizes haven't changed at all, which is nice.
I'm thinking about heading to China at the end of the school year to visit a college roommate of mine. I think that it'll be a lot of fun, and an eye opening experience at the same time. I just need to keep ironing out the fine details, like getting a visa to enter the country. Oh the joys of government bureocracy!
Anyway...I better get ready for my 1st hour class.

So long, no post

So, its been a while since I've posted. No, I'm not trying to be a blogger snob and not post...just busy. I know, very bad excuse. Meh. Well, a lot has happend since my little ear surgery thingy. For the most part I am thankful that I did. There were a few days of hard adjustment and lost of frustration on my part, but every day it become easier and the patch is starting to feel apart of me, which is a wonderful thing. I go back into see the doctor some time in January to see how the hole is healing up. I have a very strong feeling that I'll need to do this same proceedure a few more times before giving up and doing reconstruction sugery. I'm hoping that I won't have to do reconstruction surgery...the recovery time is something that I am not looking forward to at all.
Volleyball games started yesterday. We played a tough team that's played together for years, but today we played an evenly matched team, so it was nice to play other middle schoolers at our ability level. Tomorrow we play another team, so hopefully we keep improving! :) Church volleyball continues to go well, we keep losing but that's okay with me. I'm enjoying myself a lot and I enjoy just being out in the community and meeting new people. I can honestly say that I really don't know a lot of community people that do not have kids in the school. Someday, I'll fix that, but I'm struggling to put myself out there. The fear of rejection is a little too strong still. I'm decorating the church for Christmas tomorrow and I'm SO EXCITED!!! I love to decorate for Christmas, unfortunately I don't have very many for my house, but that's okay.
I leave for home for Christmas soon! 17 school days and counting! :) I am looking forward to driving to the otherside of the mountains. I haven't been home since I moved out in August. Every weekend that I was contenplating going home, something came up. Meh.

Sensory Overload

So, yesterday I hit sensory overload. For those of you who do not know, I had ear "sugery" on Monday afternoon in hopes of reparing the hole in my eardrum. Right now I'm hearing more things that I can ever remember hearing...and it's slightly overwhelming. I am enjoying this new found hearing...but it is going to take a while for me to get used to hearing things that I haven't hear in a long time...like the freezers in the grocery store (weird eh?). I won't know if this "surgery" will fix the hole until January when I go back into the doctor's office.
So, that's the update on my hearing that some of you were wondering about.

No...I'm not dead

Contrary to popular opinion, I'm not dead...
Life has become very busy for me. Last week was Parent-Teacher Conferences...three days of stress! I am thankful to have had the opportunity to meet with parents and discuss openly and honestly with parents on how their son or daughter is doing in my class.
I'm starting to feel like a "real" teacher, and there are days when I don't have to pinch myself in order to see if I'm dreaming. :)
The end of the quarter is coming up very fast...just a few weeks away! YIKES! I am having a hard time believing that the school year is going by this quickly.
Tonight I start church volleyball...I'm looking forward to playing some non-competitive volleyball and meeting more people from my church and the community. God has been so incredibly wonderful to me since moving here.
