I'm home!

Well, Evan and I safely made it home about a half day later than we were suppose to, but thats okay with me. I'm just thankful that we were able to make it home before Christmas. The nice airlines people at the Sioux Falls Airport felt really bad that our flight into Denver was cancelled, so they re-routed us on a "private" jet to Salt Lake City. By "private" jet, I mean there were eight of us on the plane, half were Dordt students. Evan and I barely made it out of Salt Lake on Friday morning. By the time we were taking off, the airport was down to one runway for take offs and landings due to the amount of snow that was falling. I was just thankful to land in Pasco. I am a little nervous to fly to New Mexico next week...I hope that I don't get stuck in any airports...that would not be fun.

Christmas break is going by way too fast! I am excited to start student teaching, but at the same time I am a little nervous. I hope that it all goes well, and that I don't trip and fall in front of all of my students, or something silly like that. Knowing me, it might possibly happen. :S I would LOVE to get letters from people while I'm down south, so if you're feeling bored, feel free to write me at:

Huzza!

NO MORE SPANISH!!!!!!! I had my Spanish exam today and I'm done with that class!!!! Huzza! I am very excited to be done with one exam and now I only have three more to go! Then its hurry up and finish my last minute packing and head home for two weeks, and then off to New Mexico for two months! :)

My sister is getting married!

Janean and Sherwin became engaged on Saturday December 9! I don't know a lot of details about the wedding, but I am super excited about having a wedding this summer and getting a brother! :)

I really cannot wait until Christmas break when I get to see Janean again and talk to her face to face. I only have a week and six exams to go!

My last semester of classes is winding down. Tomorrow is my last day of classes...seems strange to think about. I've been looking forward to this day for a while, but now that it is finally here, I'm not so sure what to think anymore. I guess that it is time for me to start growing up.

Its hard to believe that I've already been at Dordt for 3 1/2 years now...man how time flies. I am excited to see what God has in store for me while I am student teaching in Rehoboth, and at George-Little Rock. After second semester who knows where I'll be. Hopefully teaching at a school that I think is really awesome. Only time and prayers will tell.

I got drugs!

Yup, I have drugs, and hopefully these babies will make my nasty sinus infection go away!!!! I want to feel better!!!! Tonight is "senior" night with the history department...should be a good time. The senior guys are making all of the food, and I am not complaining one bit. It should be a good time, if I can stay awake, that is. meh. On the upside, 15 more days until I get to go home!!! :) I am looking forward to going home for a little while, seeing more of my family and not doing ANY homework. Then before I know it, I'm leaving on a jet plane for New Mexico! I am uber excited about student teaching on the Rez. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

P.S. Its snowing..and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

What a week...

Last week Wednesday afternoon Dordt suddenly lost a student to Jesus. Jon died of an acute asma attack, just two days before his 18th birthday. I didn't know Jon personally, but his death has affected almost everyone on campus.

On Thursday my apt had the Fessler family over for dinner. It was a lot of fun...good food and good company. I think that we'll have to have more professors and their families over.

Friday was a great day just because it was Friday. I went down to the Asylum for a few hours and hung out with some pretty neat kids...to bad that some of their parents don't realize how neat their kids really are. I have one more visit left, and I think that I'll be sad to be done with the Asylum. It is a great ministry, and the kids that come in, love it there.

Saturday, I spent most of my day sleeping and trying to fight off a cold. I'm slowly getting better. That night Roshelle and I went up to Sioux Falls to do some shopping. It was all fun until we were almost in an accident. Thankfully, we weren't the car that was hit, but since we saw what had happend, we stayed to file a witness report, since the car that was hit was blindsided and didnt' see a thing. So, I had the privaledge of sitting in a cop car, and talk with a nice police officer from the Sioux Falls PD. Yup, you heard it right, I was in a cop car this weekend! :)

Today was so very nice and relaxing. Kesli and I did nursery for Dale and Janelle, and it was a blast! We only had four kids, so it was on the quiet side. After church I hung around for the church pastoral potluck to begin. Being a churhc potluck, there was a lot of really good food. Since I kinda was a bump on a log this weekend, I really need to get some homework done.
