Thankful!
So for the last 2 years my heaters haven't really been working and finally I had enough and my landlords were called in to fix it. No, I have heat in my house! I'm thankful for heat!

Quoteable
So, sometimes my students say the FUNNIEST things! So, here are the good quotes from just the last two days!
Student: I love you Miss Swager!
Me: How would you like to go down in history as a playboy general?
Student: That'd be great!
[This is all in reference to the British Major General John Burgoyne during the American Revolution]
Student: Responsible is my middle name!
Student: I love you Miss Swager!
Me: Flirting is not an option [btw it's one of my volleyball players!]

In other news, it still hasn't snowed! This makes me VERY VERY happy! So, it's looking like I'll be able to go home for Thanksgiving! =)

poco a poco
Little by little...that's how I'm feeling at the moment. I'm trying to celebrate the little victories in life instead of fretting about the bigger stuff that I can't control.
For example, the weather isn't the greatest and there is a lot of snow on the passes and I'm worrying about whether or not I'll be able to make it home for Thanksgiving this year. So, today I went out and purchased chains for my car today. Small victory! Now I can at least attempt to make it home.
Another little victory, is that I was able to go for a run yesterday! I ran 2.84 miles! :) It feels great to be able to run again and have only a little foot pain. Soon, I'll be able to hit my goal of running 3 miles by the end of the month.
So, here's to celebrating the little victories in life! =)

So, yeah, um...
So, I don't have any excuse for not being a better blogger, especially now that I have more reliable access to Internet. I'm becoming the blogger that most people don't like...
So, here's a really quick run down on what's been happening since the last time I blogged:
- We have a new pastor! =) God is faithful in answering the prayers of our congregation and brought us a wonderful minister! He and his wife are really cool, and not much older than me!
- School started
- Volleyball season started and finished ~ my 7th grade team place 3rd in our league with a record of 6-4. Not too shabby, seeing how 40% of my team was 6th graders.
- I have a roommate! This is a HUGE answer to prayer!
- I went to a NWCSI/ASCI B.C. convention in Surrey, B.C. Saw some of my teachers, which is always kind of a strange experience.
- I played piano in church for the first time in about 12 (give or take a few) years -- thought that I was having a heart attack. We'll have to wait and see if I'll do it again, the jury is still out.
- Attempting to say busy planning church services
- "Survived" the first quarter of the school year...1/4 of the way done! (sorry, bad joke!)
- Having less headaches! =) Very cool!
- Having foot issues...not cool! I was told by the foot doctor to make my foot act up by my next appointment. So far, doing great on that order seeing how I went for a run for the first time since July! I am SO out of shape! :S Not good!
- I bought a PINK iPod and LOVE it!
- Made up my mind on graduate school...I'm going to apply and most likely get in to Dordt's Masters of Education program....not too worried about getting rejected.
- Went reverse trick-or-treating on Sunday. I don't think that my neighbor's know what to do with me some times! Hello randomness! ;)

So....
Okay, so I'm horible at posting! Sorry! Summer just flew away from me, and I'm already finished with my second week of school. Where has time gone?

While Evan and Kim were on their honeymoon, the rest of us went to Yellowstone. It was amazing! We were able to see Old Faithful errupt a couple of times...I don't think that Tate was too thrilled to have the show be over!
In August, I decided to go on one last more vacation before school started. I flew out to MN to visit my friend Sarah and also went to Nikki's wedding! It was an amazingly fast weekend, but well worth it!

So, here's a picture look at my summer!
July: Evan and Kim are married! Crazy!

So, school's back in session and so is volleyball. Our theme for the school year is "Standing on God's Promises." It's a great theme, and I've been having a lot of fun incorporating it into my classes.
