Growing up hurts....the check book that is. I never really realized how expensive it would be to grow up and move out of the nest. Between the cost of my water deposit and the car insurance bill...I think that I might have added a few more gray hairs. Hopefully it will make me look more "distinguished" or something along those lines! :)
A week from tomorrow I move into my duplex! Moving day is coming a lot faster than I originally thought it would. Slowly but surely boxes are getting packed and stored away in the garage. I am looking forward to being in my own place and being able to decorate and do things the way that I want to do them.
I am still a little nervous about the first day of school, but I'm sure that as the day approaches I will feel more confident...that's the goal anyway! :)

Long time no blog
So, its been a while since I've blogged anything...let's see what's all happened in my life since graduation....
- I've signed a lease on a duplex in Mount Vernon!!!! Everyone is welcome to visit! :) Its small, but plenty big for me. It is a 950 sq. ft. duplex with two bedrooms, one bath. I actually haven't seen inside the duplex, but I'm sure that it will be fine. The lady that's moving out lived there for a few decades, so I'm sure that my landlord will fix things up a bit. I'm moving out to Mount Vernon on the 17th of August! Less than a month away!!!! AAHH!!! School starts September 4 --wow, I don't know if I can handle school starting so late (compared to what I'm used to).
- I am a proud owner of a cell phone....(360) 333-9702. Feel free to call me any time...especially if you're a Verizon user, otherwise, call me after nine. Sorry, I'm on limited minutes. *shrug*
- I'm back at the shoe store...huzzah for a job.
- Married off my sister last weekend. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. Of course I cried my eyes out, why did you even bother asking me!?! :) I even made Janean cry (shocker of all shocks!) during my toast. What else are little sisters good for if they're not revealing some hidden secret that Mom and Dad aren't suppose to find out about?!? ;)
Um...I think that's about it for news in my life. Pictures of the wedding and house coming as soon as I have some.

I HAVE A JOB!
God is so good to me!
After visiting Hesperia, and realizing that it wasn't the place for me, God had something bigger and better in store for me. Friday morning (after being home for a handful of hours) Mount Vernon called me, wondering if I would be willing to drive up there for an in person interview instead of having one over the phone. So, Mom and I headed up their Monday morning, and that night I had my interview. I felt that it went really well, and the principal even thought so too, which is always a good thing. Tuesday morning as Mom and I are getting ready to head back home, I get a phone call from MVCS asking me if I want a job! :) I am SO EXCITED!!!! I will be teaching 7th & 8th Grade Social Studies, Bible, maybe Language Arts, or some high school church history/Bible classes. The details are still being worked out.
I am looking forward to August now instead of dreading it. It is a huge relief to have a job and to know what I am doing with my life and my education. Right now, I need to find a place to live. Hopefully next month I'll be heading back up to Mount Vernon to look at some apartments or some condos to rent. So far I've found a few that seem affordable...now on to car insurance. :S yucky. Oh the joys of growing up! :)
So, if you're ever in the Seattle Area, give me a call, I would love to meet up with you!

Hesperia
Well, I'm still down in Hesperia, but I've already heard about whether or not I'll have a contract here. The board and the church after some prayer and discussion decided not to offer me a contract. I am okay with that...believe it or not! During the interview process I felt that the biggest mark against me was the fact that I am from a very strong Calvinistic background, and the church is dispensational. I am not bitter about not having a job offer, but I am thankful for the opportunity to know what it is like to fly out to a school, teach a few classes, and then have an interview with the board. I have another interview comming up with Mount Vernon, and hopefully it's God's will that I teach there. Otherwise, I'll stay at home and put my name on the subsitutes list and hopefully stay busy with that.
God has something in store for me this fall, and I just need to be patient and figure it out with Him. I am still looking forward to seeing what He has in store for me! :)

Done
Well, I'm offically finished with my undergraduate work. Seems weird. For the first time in my life, I'm done with school...I don't know what to do with myself. Graduation was on Friday, and I walked wearing my klompens. It was a blast! :) I had a lot of people comment on them...it made me feel good. I head back home to Washington tomorrow morning after dropping my parents off at the airport. It's kind of bittersweet heading home. I don't know what I'm doing with my life, and I hate this feeling. I fly out Tuesday morning to Hesperia for a job interview. I am hoping and praying that it goes well. I am very nervous about this interview because I have to teach three classes while I'm down there. It helps to know that I have a very strong support network that is praying for me. When I come back home on Thursday I am hoping to be able to unpack and catch up on some much needed sleep. On Friday, I am hopefully hearing back from MVCS about a middle school position. It would be cool to live in either Mount Vernon or Hesperia. I guess that I'll just have to wait and see where God takes me.
I would love to stay in contact with you all, so drop me a line or two every once in a while.
