21 days

21 more days...that's it until I am home for Christmas Break. It seems so close, but yet, so far away. Next week is our last full week of classes, then dead week and then exams. *sniff* This is my last semester of in class exams...weird eh? Next semester my exam is how well I performed at student teaching. Its kinda scary. I have another student teaching meeting tonight...I'm not sure what its all about, but I'll find out in an hour. I visited with our student teacher placement coordinator today about getting my placement switched from George to a middle school hopefully closer to Dordt, but alas, it is not to be. I am bummed that I didn't get a middle school placement. Hopefully I'll like teaching at George...keep your fingers crossed for me! Now I just have to find a day and time that works for both my George supervising teacher and myself to meet and discuss 4th quarter.

Tomorrow night my apt is having a professor and his family over...it should be a lot of fun. I'm making dinner and I'm kinda nervous about how it will turn out. Its a meal that I have made before, but yeah...I dunno. If it doesn't turn out...oh well, plan "B" is to order pizza! :)

Okay, back to homework.

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was amazing! Denver had amazing weather...when we arrived on Wednesday afternoon it was in the 70s, absolutly georgeous! I was able to see the capitol building all decked out in lights, went shopping, hung out at Barnes and Nobles and drank way too many Starbucks, toured Molly Brown's mansion, saw the govenor's mansion and was able to see a lot of Denver and the surrounding areas. A very beautiful area, reminded me a little of home, which was good. My hosts were terrific! I felt at home right away and I enjoyed their company a lot.

Being back at school isn't a whole lot of fun. Next week is the last full week of school (I think), which is good, because I don't know how much more of school and my classes I could handel. I have a paper due asap, and a Spanish vocabulary test, which I am very much not looking forward to taking. I think that I have a serious case of Seniorites at the moment and another vacation is the only way I think will cure it. Okay, I better stop putting off my homework.

Turkey Day

Thanksgiving is almost upon us! Huzah! I am very much looking forward to break this year. I am grateful that I have the ability and opportunity to get out of the great state of Iowa for a few days and pray that I don't get stranded in Denver like I was last year.

I am kinda bummed that I don't get to go home this year. Janean, Sherwin, Dale, Janelle, and Bennett are all going home, while Evan and I are left out in cold Northwest Iowa. I hope that they all eat a lot of turkey for me, or atleast attempt to bring me back some...that would be nice! :) For some reason, I don't think that it will happen. Oh well, its worth a shot right???

I think that I'm starting to go stir crazy. I have a 5,000 word paper due on the 28th, which is the day that get back from break. I have started the research, but I'm still not exactly sure home I'm suppose to pull it all together to make it sound intelligent. Hopefully I will find a lot of time this weekend to work on it, and get a lot of it finished, so I have one less thing to stress about during break.

It is hard to believe how fast this semester has gone by. As of today, there are only 33 more days left until I go home for Christmas. Yikes! Then its off to New Mexico for a half-semester of student teaching, return to Iowa for a week of classes and interviews and then off to my second placement. I am very much looking forward to student teaching, it will be a lot of work, but I think that it will be a very rewarding experience.

2nd Placement

Last night I had a student teacher placement meeting. So, I now have a second half placement for student teaching. I'm at George-Little Rock High School teaching history. Its about a 50 minute drive one day...grr....not going to be fun. Oh well. I was kinda hoping for a middle school placement, so I asked if I could possibly have one, and Dordt is looking into it. I hope that I get one! That would be very nice.

Thanksgiving is exactly a week from today. I have so much stuff to get done before then...I hope I make it out alive. I really should stop procrastinating on my homework, but I'd rather blog and do other stuff. mmeh.

Okay, fine, I give up. I'm going to do my homework now.

Silly Me

Okay, so I created a new blogger because I'm silly and somehow managed to lock myself out of my other one, and I can't get back in...grr!! So, check this one for updates on my life.
I found out this past Monday that I'm doing my first half of student teaching at Rehoboth Christian High School. I'll be teaching high school history, and I am very much looking forward to it! :) Next semester is just going to fly by way too fast, but such it life.
