Whelmed

So, school starts in exactly a week, and the pressure is finally starting to hit me. I had meetings all morning, and then CPR/First Aid training all afternoon. After wolfing down some food, I'm back at school attempting to get rid of my feeling of over-whelmedness. I am constantly reminding myself to breathe...good policy right?!? Anyway...wish me God's blessings as I attempt to finish getting things together!

Oh Happy Day!

Today is a great day. Do you want to know why I am so happy? I'll tell you. The teacher supply store here in town is having a back to school sale. I entered my name into a drawing and I won (yes, that's right...I won something) some really awesome middle school appropriate posters! :) BUT, that's not why I'm so happy. The first hundred people recieved a goodie bag of random teacher stuff. In my bag I have a full sheet (yes, a full sheet) of...are you ready...monkey stickers!!! :) I am excited to have some monkey stickers! :) Oh happy day!!!!

I'm HERE!!!

I arrived in Mount Vernon safe and sound on Thursday!! I am all the way moved into my house...and it feels wonderful to not be in boxes any more! :) Last night was my first night in my duplex without anyone else, and it feels weird to have a huge space all to myself! Yesterday I had a really informative teacher in-service here in town. I learned a lot.

My classroom, slowly, but surely is starting to feel like it's mine. I have a few more decorating touches to finish up and then I think my room is ready for my students. If anyone has suggestions on how to arrange my desks (all 28 of them) in non-row formation I would love to hear your suggestion!

I will be posting pictures of my house and classroom as soon as I have some.

It's offical! I'm now from Mount Vernon. After spending an hour waiting at DOL, my driver's license states that I am from Mount Vernon. Huzzah!

Mom and I packed for a while again today...the house is starting to look very empty. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. *srug*

Two more days until I move!

I just wanna be a Toys R Us kid...

Growing up hurts....the check book that is. I never really realized how expensive it would be to grow up and move out of the nest. Between the cost of my water deposit and the car insurance bill...I think that I might have added a few more gray hairs. Hopefully it will make me look more "distinguished" or something along those lines! :)
A week from tomorrow I move into my duplex! Moving day is coming a lot faster than I originally thought it would. Slowly but surely boxes are getting packed and stored away in the garage. I am looking forward to being in my own place and being able to decorate and do things the way that I want to do them.
I am still a little nervous about the first day of school, but I'm sure that as the day approaches I will feel more confident...that's the goal anyway! :)
